Clear out the "holiday" energy and get ready for Imbolc

Natural Magic Field Notes

As we approach the end of January, many of us are still enjoying the festive decor that we put up for the holiday season.

But let me tell you -- it’s time to let that holiday energy (and all the greens and stuff) GO.

Here’s why…

Imbolc and Candlemas (Feb 1-2) are ancient holidays that celebrate the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.

They are associated with the goddess Brigid, who is a symbol of the returning light and the awakening of the earth.

Many cultures believe that leaving holiday greenery up past these dates is disrespectful to Brigid, as it represents holding onto the darkness of winter and not allowing the light to return.

By clearing out the old, we make way for the new and invite in the energy of growth and renewal.

Not only is clearing out the old greenery a symbolic act, but it can also help to clear out any stagnant energy that may have accumulated in your space over the last couple of months.

This can help to create a fresh start and a more positive atmosphere in your home or workspace.

Wouldn’t that feel great?!
